Week #16 - He Is Real!!
This is Caroline also from Churchville and has just recently went through the temple:) |
HI EVERYONE
I recently left Churchville and am now serving in Windsor with Sister Child (from England) in a family ward and love it!
I'm right off the border and straight across from Detroit!! I can't even began to explain the miracles I've seen.
It started with us low on fuel driving to London after exchanges turns out it was a 3 1/2 hour drive and my first time driving so I didn't even think to check the fuel. We were going along in the middle of farm land with no civilization in site. Both our phones are locked and won't allow the sim card to connect and so we had no data to find the map to the nearest gas station. With only a few Ks left before we ran out we pulled off the exit and started driving with LITERALLY NOTHING in site. We felt prompted to pray and pulled off. After the prayer we were directed to a home.
We pulled over and met a man named John and he directed to us where to go. We slyly brought up that we were missionaries and he didn't seem interested (its ok, we planted a seed). We came to a 4 way and couldn't remember so prayed again and went into a house that was on the right. Her name was Anna, very sweet catholic that directed us to it. We saw the gas station and put the blinker on, I looked down to see how many Ks we had left and they were gone!! We were then running on fumes! We made it the whole way and not to mention it directed us right back on to the 401! BLESSED!
This is Creet from Churchville YSA that has come such a long way from where he was at. He will be baptized and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost on August 19th and I couldn't be happier for Him:) |
Walking along the riverside is our best go to for preaching the gospel. They're all fishing and can't go anywhere:) We met a man and his wife and he shared that he didn't believe there was a God, he shared with us that if there was then he was doing a horrible job because of all the horrible things in this world.
I turned it to him and asked why would we need a God if there wasn't one?
Why would we need Salvation if there was nothing to be saved from?
Earlier that day I was studying the scriptures and I can testify to you now that I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God. That the Book of Mormon is true. The spirit testified to me that I need to share nothing but repentance unto this generation, and also things that are so very sacred in giving me the sure knowledge in knowing that Jesus is the Christ. He is the Son of God and Redeemer of the World. He has overcome the world and without Him we would be nothing.
With all my heart I know this Gospel is true. I know it. Trust in God. He knows you better then you know yourself. He places you in a specific place for a specific reason. You are where you are to either build you up to become as a God or to help those in need of a gift that you have. Don't let trials or people tear you down. Look at it close, understand what you are suppose to learn from it and move forward. God is Real. He knows you.
I love sister Child so much!! We have had so many miracles its unreal!!! God has blessed us over and above here in Windsor!
We've received so many referrals, we were street contacting and ran into a group of men that were fishing and one of them has a family and is interested in learning more, another was really interested in reading the book and getting one in Spanish for his friend, another man we met the day before and he came over to talk to us. Its too much. God is so great. This week as I can say that I have gained a very strong testimony in knowing that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God and the Book of Mormon is true. I have Testified to everyone I speak to and it has not only brought the strong power of the Holy Ghost but has built mine up as well. I'm grateful and couldn't be happier to be a missionary!!
With all the Love in the World.
Sister Rees
