Week #46 - Prayer of Faith

Wow!  I am training and have a new companion!  Her name is Sister Kelly.  She's from Rexburg, Idaho.  She is wonderful and a great cookie maker!  I think we are going to be a good team!  The work is good, but  discouraging at times.  We find so many people and then they just don't want to put in the effort to progress.   I am trying to hold them up with work, faith, and being as obedient as possible.  Our focus is on teaching and helping them keep their commitments to get on the path!

On Tuesday we were on our way from an appointment and drove by a women out shoveling in the snow, we weren't dressed for shoveling but were prompted to help. We had English Class that started at 7pm (in 10 min) but we decided to help. We asked if she needed help and she said yes,  "How much do I owe you?" That's something I've heard a lot in Canada. They will always ask how much we will charge before they accept the help. She didn't have enough shovels so we went and asked her neighbors if we could borrow theirs and they were so nice as usual in giving and they let us use theirs.

We finished the drive way and she asked us to please come in for a Coffee.  We explained to her no and then she said tea? hahh!  She was determined to serve us somehow so we asked if we could have a glass of water and share a message with her family. We dropped the shovels off to the families we borrowed them from and gave them our homemade slices of bread that we were given, and gave a picture of the Savior. Then we went back to Roxans home and she let us in and her 2 boys came down. We got talking and she mentioned that she was praying that night to Allah for someone to help her. We shared our testimonies of a lovivg Heavenly Father and left her with a Book of Mormon. We didn't find any success that day but we had a chance to move someone closer to our Heavenly Father:).

That night we came home to find 2 Red Velvet cupcakes at the Bottom of our stairs from the Members of the home we are renting from:).

We saw Stephan on Thursday and he just got home from work and wasn't open to do anything. We convinced him to meet for a few minutes and once we were in the Spirit came so strong and he all the sudden received so much energy and was yearning for more! He was reading the Book of Mormon so closely and was involved in the Lesson. He is going to Cuba this week and so we decided to wait and share with him the word of wisdom until the next week, hahh.

We went and dropped by Burnadette on Friday and she was given 3 new foster children to take care of. We were talking to her in her driveway and asked if we could meet them. She invited us in and we met Shay 14, Audryanna 8, and a 7 year old (can't remember) we got talking to them and they were so happy!! They've gone from home to home and loved each other very much. They asked Burnedette if we were a suprise. They couldn't stop smiling and laughing. We got to know them and hugged them tight  We left each person with a picture of the Savior. After we left (hahh) I cried, the love Heavenly Father has for them filled my heart.
