Week #67 - Member Work Brings Miracles!!

Image
This week We have taken Trena, a returning member, tracting with us and this week have found 13 new people to teach! We also had 4 people at church!  We have been meeting with Karen and Ethan. Burlington Ward has been amazing at fellowshipping! Sister Hickman invited Karen to go see a Broadway with some women in the Relief Society. Sister Price and I taught the Young Men about what we wished we would have done before our mission and it was so good to see how involved Ethan was only being 11.  He fit right in with all the other boys even though he was new to all.   A few weeks ago I mentioned a family. The mothers name is Juliet and she has 3 children between the ages 12-17 all from Nigeria. We have been trying to contact her but haven't been able to so we wrote a note and put it on her car. She called the number written on it and we tried calling back, but it was an unknown number. She left a number on her voicemail and we couldn't understand becau...

In the last 3 weeks we have found 6 new people to teach. We went down the wrong street to go to an appointment and Met Crystal and Noel. We visited with them and before we did Trena, Sister Price and I had a challenge to pray for the ...

Week #65 - Megan Committed to Baptism! Please Pray for her.

Hi Family! I am sorry I have not written much!  It is so much easier to talk with you on the phone!  Here is my basic update.   I have a new companion - Sister Price.  She is from Arizona.  She is wonderful.  We really get along well and we are working hard together knocking doors and talking to people everywhere we go. We found Lisa!  She was working in another store and we happen to run in to her.  She seemed ok when we spoke to her and she is concerned with her up coming surgery.  Not sure if she will want to learn more, but we are hopeful.  MEGAN set a date for Baptism!  August 3rd!  She is really getting excited and has been doing everything she needs to do.  Her boyfriend seems to be trying to slow it down though.  He is a member, but has not been to church for years.  He is just coming back with her.  So we have 2 people to share the Hope & Joy of Christ with!   The work is hard, we...

Week #63 - Who is Jesus Christ to You?

We had a talk we wanted to deliver to Jessica because we haven't been able to reach her for a while. We wanted to visit her at home and the family wasn't very happy to have us in. We also wrote a get well card for her Mother who recently got out of surgery. The father of the home was a very active man in the church years ago and then became Anti. He threw out disrespectful comments and wasn't wanting us in his home. We knew it wasn't anger at us, but his words were hurting a lot. We boldly told him the reason we came and the Spirit hit him and he let us take a seat. T hey told us stories, and fun times, and then shared how they met and the hard things they've gone through. We couldn't help but listen and cry as we almost felt the pain he was carrying. We shared a message from the talk "A Regal Identity" and asked if they would share this with their daughter Jessica. The Father jumped in and said yes, I will. I will share this with her e...
