Week #49 - Baking & Visits - 2 of my favorite things...

Image
Rositas China Tuesday, March 19,2019  - Visited Sister Payne and she repeated Proverbs 3:5-6 over 15 times in one visit. Unfortunately she has dementia but I'm pretty sure that was God telling me to trust Him. Because 2 days before we were eating breakfast and Sister Kelly played a talk.  It mentioned Trust in the Lord, then the next talk,  Trust in the Lord with all thine heart lean not unto thine own understanding.  Sister insane, Sister Kelly, and I made corn bread and had it  with Apple Cider/Hot Chocolate Friday, March 22,2019 - We were at a dinner appointment with The Ulloas children and right after we finished the lesson I felt prompted to ask what their favorite scriptures are. Brother Ulloa blurts out "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not into thine own understanding, in all thy ways acknowledge him and he shall direct thy paths." I just sat there smiling.  It felt like a bus just hit Sister Kelly & I for u...

Week #48 - Mark is getting Baptized! So grateful!

Image
GOOD NEWS!  Mark that dropped us is wanting to meet with us again! We asked him why and he said he misses that good feeling whenever we were around, and the love that we showed him. He feels that there is something special to this message. He has a baptismal date for April 27th!! and we have been praying with him at night and sending scripture texts in the morning. The other day he was on the bus and we called him and asked if he would like to pray and he did! Nothing makes me happier:)) We are running low on K's and so we have been walking to each appointment and it has been the funnest ever! Some how every time we would walk out the door it would snow, but on the way the Sun would come out...hahh we were surprised, but the snow is beautiful!  We also were held hostage at an older members home THEY WOULD NOT LET US LEAVE HAHH we finally got out at 8:15pm and as we walked home we played piano music from Yiruma and watched the stars.  It was well worth It!...

Week #47 - Have Faith, Have Hope, Live like His Son, Help Others on their Way.

Good News and a Tough Week!  A Missionaries Life!   I received a message from Pamela from the Windsor Ward.  She said her husband is getting baptized March 30th! I also received another message from Lionel, someone we were teaching in Kingston, that said he will be getting baptized April 3rd!! I am so excited to hear they still progressed after I left the area.  They are such wonderful people.   These last few weeks have been so hard. I honestly feel like I'm relearning the basics of knowledge and how to be a missionary.  It is so humbling to be the one that teaches a new missionary how to find and teach people to Come Unto Christ. Especially when we have been rejected so much since she arrived!  We went tracting yesterday in the rain and everyone opened the door a crack and shut it before we could share anything. To make it even better, on the way to the next home someone banged on the window and we looked up and they started mocking us, " Go...

Week #46 - Prayer of Faith

Image
Wow!  I am training and have a new companion!  Her name is Sister Kelly.  She's from Rexburg, Idaho.  She is wonderful and a great cookie maker!  I think we are going to be a good team!  The work is good, but  discouraging at times.  We find so many people and then they just don't want to put in the effort to progress.   I am trying to hold them up with work, faith, and being as obedient as possible.  Our focus is on teaching and helping them keep their commitments to get on the path!   On Tuesday we were on our way from an appointment and drove by a women out shoveling in the snow, we weren't dressed for shoveling but were prompted to help. We had English Class that started at 7pm (in 10 min) but we decided to help. We asked if she needed help and she said yes,  "How much do I owe you?" That's something I've heard a lot in Canada. They will always ask how much we will charge before they accept the help. She didn't have e...

Week #45 - LIfe is soooo good...

Our little Paris My Mission President called us last night and told us there are some changes.   Sister Tebbs is going to Berrie with Sister Yoo... and I'm training!!   When he told me I said, "Are you sure?"  He said, "Yes, Heavenly Father answered yes!"  I feel nervous and excited at the same time!!  I will be in the same area, Pickering.  I have an exchange tonight and staying in Credit View.  Then I go to Brampton in the morning and I meet my new companion then.  We have had a lot of WIND!! This transfer was so fun and so hard.  We did everything we could and ugh it's hard. What's really good is Stephan has been coming to church regularly and some men from Oshwa do soccer night and he's big into soccer and they invited him to play with them!  I don't know if Kaden heard this story, but when we went in to see Sister Gordan, Sister Tebbs prayed before we left.  For whatever reason my eyes were open an...

Week #43 - Positive = Success

This week there was Frezzzing rain! Anything it hits it freezes! The snow looks porcelain from the rain on top! Sister Tebbs and I Ice Skated on it yesterday, hah.  Freezing Rain Yesterday, (Sunday) Stephan came to church.  MY HEART WAS SO HAPPY! Sister Sin wrote my name! We've done lots and lots of tracting. We met someone named Gudrun and John guess where they are from? GERMANY they were so kind and let us in to talk. Nothing came from it, but we planted a seed. We also went tracting to a home and didn't realize it was an active member in the US A branch.  We knocked, he opened the door and said, "Hello, come on in! Can you imagine how we felt?? HE WAS SO EXCITED AND WE WERE SO HAPPY! Then said he was a member. Bah.   We dropped by Juliannas home (someone we previously tracted). We were able to share the Restoration and the Spirit felt nice.  She is a strong Christian believer and has joined many different churches.  Sh...
