Week #45 - LIfe is soooo good...

Image
Our little Paris My Mission President called us last night and told us there are some changes.   Sister Tebbs is going to Berrie with Sister Yoo... and I'm training!!   When he told me I said, "Are you sure?"  He said, "Yes, Heavenly Father answered yes!"  I feel nervous and excited at the same time!!  I will be in the same area, Pickering.  I have an exchange tonight and staying in Credit View.  Then I go to Brampton in the morning and I meet my new companion then.  We have had a lot of WIND!! This transfer was so fun and so hard.  We did everything we could and ugh it's hard. What's really good is Stephan has been coming to church regularly and some men from Oshwa do soccer night and he's big into soccer and they invited him to play with them!  I don't know if Kaden heard this story, but when we went in to see Sister Gordan, Sister Tebbs prayed before we left.  For whatever reason my eyes were open an...

Week #43 - Positive = Success

This week there was Frezzzing rain! Anything it hits it freezes! The snow looks porcelain from the rain on top! Sister Tebbs and I Ice Skated on it yesterday, hah.  Freezing Rain Yesterday, (Sunday) Stephan came to church.  MY HEART WAS SO HAPPY! Sister Sin wrote my name! We've done lots and lots of tracting. We met someone named Gudrun and John guess where they are from? GERMANY they were so kind and let us in to talk. Nothing came from it, but we planted a seed. We also went tracting to a home and didn't realize it was an active member in the US A branch.  We knocked, he opened the door and said, "Hello, come on in! Can you imagine how we felt?? HE WAS SO EXCITED AND WE WERE SO HAPPY! Then said he was a member. Bah.   We dropped by Juliannas home (someone we previously tracted). We were able to share the Restoration and the Spirit felt nice.  She is a strong Christian believer and has joined many different churches.  Sh...

Week #42 - Tender Mercies & Heart Breaks

A Postcard of a Street in Pickering - in Black & White This week we have been knocking doors and oh man, I love tracting with a passion, haha!  It can be so discouraging after so many people say no. Each time we try to think of a different way to approach, we have scanned through as many people as we can to see if there is any one searching but it has come down to persuasion. What's nice about the cold is that sometimes they let us in, or they'll crack the door so they don't get cold and we can talk then.   This week has been a high of good and bad.  Saturday we were tracting by the lake with the biggest homes! As we were leaving a home we saw four men that came back from fishing.  We went over and started talking to them.  When they knew the message was coming they began to leave in a hurry. I jumped in and said hey, "Before you go what are your beliefs in Jesus Christ?"  One of them said no... and kinda laughed.  He wasn't ...

Week #41 - Love Is Most Important!

This week has been very good!!  We called some people on the phone that we felt had potential to being ready to hear the gospel.  A man named Stephen, answered and said he was interested. We started talking to him over the phone while he was at work about the importance of the Book of Mormon and the role it plays. We came over to teach him about the Restoration and on the way over I slipped on the ice and fell up the driveway, hah!!  We were laughing so hard that by the time I got to the door we were smiling so big!! hah it worked out great.=)  We've been doing a lot of teaching and tons of tracting.  The last few days we have seen lots of success!  We had dinner last night with a member from Italy and I actually knew his daughter that lived in Kingston. Before we left, he told us something very important (that hasn't left my mind) about how important love is. He said that the most important thing you can do is to love your companion.  No mat...

Week #40 - The COLD won't stop us from the WORK!!

Sister Devos from Kingston Ajax is Amazing!! We're staying in a members home and It is so nice! I'm doing really good :) I love Sister Tebbs!  This week in Pickering we actually have found quite a few potentials! We are currently teaching someone named Derrick Wayne. We're trying to think of creative ways to find people. Our ward Mission Leader is Brother Brady and he came with us to visit someone we're teaching, and then we brought his wife on Saturday to visit another person we are teaching. I haven't introduced my self to the Family History Consultant, yet but I hope to meet them and use them as a resource too. There's a lot more snow! It's -22 degrees Celsius!! (which means -7.6 degrees Fahrenheit, plus humidity!!) I read this poem and loved it! In His Hands - by Heather Kyle Clay. Limp. Shapeless. Yet with potential. The Masters kind heart. Loving eyes see what I can become. Slowly, he works. sculpting mo...

Today is Transfers!  My favorite Sister Clark is training! Best of Luck to her   I'm leaving beautiful Kingston and all the wonderful friends I've made.  I am going to Pickering, it's in Ajax and my companion is Sister Tebbs.   Sister Tebbs   I love Kingston so much !! Here's an update:  Jeremy , has frequently been coming to church and we've taught him all 3 lessons and the next lesson Sister Clark will help set a date and help him work towards quitting smoking.  Sister Clarks Aunt, Stephanie Nelsen (at nieniedialogues.com) is helping us with our lessons!! (without even knowing it!)   A woman named Mary that I mentioned to you follows her blog.  Mary noticed a picture of Stephanie and her kids reading the Book of Mormon . We visited with Mary this week and she told us she felt compelled to read it! She also initiated a pinky promise that she would!  Lionel , also felt compelled to read the Book of Mormon ...
